Trump christens ‘Lake America’ amid trade war with Canada
You might have heard that Donald Trump has given a name change to one of the Great Lakes. If you haven’t read the news, here is the link.
Because of the problems that Trump created with trading with Cananda he thought he change the name of Lake Ontario to Lake America. Well, the premier of Ontario said, “Kiss my a**!”
It seems like anytime that Trump doesn’t get his childish ways, he does or says something stupid. So, he signed an Executive Order to make the change. In response, the US Geological Survey went along with the change and now has ordered the government to use this name. This act, not only shows how wrong it is; how it breaks laws, but it also shows the sickness of the Federal government. With all the things that Trump has done, such as declaring war without approval of Congress, they go along with this.
This change was because of Canada didn’t agree to the trade deals with America. So, what will Trump do IF Canada does everything to make him happy? Change the name back? I guess they will have to agree to become the 51st state before that happens!
When the day comes for Trump to go to trail for the crimes against humanity, let’s pray they bring to court all the politicians and apparatchiks who went along with his crimes.
Executive Orders was started by the tyrannical Abraham Lincoln and has continued since. This gives the president dictatorial powers. And Donald Trump is using it to the maximum.
When the day comes that America gets back to a Christian government, the Executive Order will all go into the fire where they belong.
My Prediction
Knowing the twisted thinking of Donald Trump, don’t be surprised when you hear the following. Before Donald Trump leaves office, thinking that he was the greatest president of the United States, changes the name of Washington D.C. to Trump D.C. But this might not be good enough, as it’s just a surname. So, maybe he might want to call it Donald Trump D.C., or just Donald Trump.
Think about it, this is what a narcisstic person on steroids would do.
The question is, will the post office and other delivery services deliver mail with people still using the name Washington D.C? Only time will tell.

Michigan (the only one located entirely within the United States)
Erie (the shallowest and smallest by volume)
Ontario (the smallest by surface area)

- Lake Superior
Origin: French
Meaning: “Upper Lake” (Lac Supérieur)
Why it was chosen: French explorers and missionaries arriving via the Ottawa River designated it Lac Supérieur because it was situated geographically north of, or “above,” Lake Huron. The English later translated this directly to “Superior”. Indigenous peoples (Ojibwe/Anishinaabe) originally called it Gichigami or Gitche Gumee, meaning “great body of water”.

Origin: Ojibwe / Algonquian
Meaning: “Large lake” or “great water” (from mishigami or michi-gami).
Why it was chosen: Early French travelers adopted the native description used by the local Ojibwe. Maps initially fluctuated between names like Lac des Illinois (after the local confederation) and Grand Lac, before settling on a French adaptation of mishigami, which eventually became “Michigan”.
- Lake Huron
Origin: French term for an Indigenous nation
Meaning: Named after the Huron people (who refer to themselves as the Wendat).
Why it was chosen: French explorers named the body of water Lac des Hurons (“Lake of the Hurons”) because it was surrounded by the territory of the Wendat people, whom French soldiers had nicknamed Huron. Before this, early French cartographers referred to it as La Mer Douce (“The Fresh Water Sea”).
- Lake Erie
Origin: Iroquoian
Meaning: “Long tail” (derived from the Iroquoian word erielhonan).
Why it was chosen: It was named after the Erie people who lived along its southern shore. The tribe’s endonym Erielhonan referred either to the shape of the lake or to the panther/cougar (“long tail”) associated with the tribe. French traders adapted the name into Lac Érié.

Origin: Wyandot (Huron) / Iroquoian
Meaning: “Lake of shining waters” or “great lake” (from Ontari:io).
Why it was chosen: French explorers initially called it Lake St. Louis, but mapmakers and Jesuit historians later restored a version of the local Iroquoian description, latinizing it to Lacus Ontarius before it became “Lake Ontario”.
