A Kingdom of Priests
by Bertrand L. Comparet!
This article explores the great honor and responsibility bestowed upon our ancestors by Yahweh, and the importance of fulfilling our part in the covenant. As a chosen people, we are called to be a holy nation and a kingdom of priests. Remember, the Bible teaches us the importance of discrimination in fulfilling our divine purpose.
Questions:
- What is the significance of the offer made by Yahweh to our ancestors in Exodus 19:5-6?
- How does the concept of being a “kingdom of priests” tie into our responsibilities as a chosen people?
- In what ways can we fulfill our part in the covenant and earn the reward promised to us by Yahweh?
What is the significance of the offer made by Yahweh to our ancestors in Exodus 19:5-6?
The offer made by Yahweh to our ancestors in Exodus 19:5-6 is of great significance as it represents a unique and exceptional opportunity extended to the Israelites. In these verses, Yahweh promises that if the people obey His voice and keep His covenant, they will be a peculiar treasure to Him above all people, a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation.
This offer signifies several key points:
- Special Relationship: Yahweh’s offer establishes a special relationship between Him and the Israelites. By obeying His commands and keeping the covenant, they are set apart as a treasured and chosen people.
- Honored Position: Being designated as a kingdom of priests and a holy nation elevates the Israelites to a position of honor and distinction among all other peoples. They are called to serve as priests and maintain holiness in their community.
- Responsibility: Along with the honor bestowed upon them, the Israelites are entrusted with responsibilities. They are expected to fulfill their part of the covenant, obey Yahweh’s laws, and act as representatives of His will on earth.
- Conditional Promise: Unlike many other promises from Yahweh, this offer is conditional upon the obedience and faithfulness of the Israelites. They must actively participate in upholding their end of the covenant to receive the blessings associated with being a kingdom of priests.
In essence, the offer in Exodus 19:5-6 symbolizes Yahweh’s desire for a close relationship with His chosen people, their elevated status as priests and a holy nation, and the mutual commitment required to maintain this special bond.
In what ways can we fulfill our part in the covenant and earn the reward promised to us by Yahweh?
To fulfill our part in the covenant and earn the reward promised by Yahweh as outlined in Exodus 19:5-6, we can engage in the following actions:
- Obedience to Yahweh’s Commands: We must diligently obey Yahweh’s commandments and follow His instructions as given in the Bible. This includes living a life in accordance with His teachings and principles.
- Maintaining Holiness: As a holy nation, we should strive to lead lives that reflect holiness and righteousness. This involves upholding moral values, practicing kindness and compassion, and avoiding sinful behaviors.
- Teaching Yahweh’s Laws: Just as the priests of ancient Israel were tasked with teaching Yahweh’s laws to the people, we can fulfill our role as a kingdom of priests by sharing and promoting the knowledge of Yahweh’s commandments with others.
- Judging Disobedience: When individuals or societies deviate from Yahweh’s laws, we can play a role in addressing and correcting such disobedience. This may involve offering guidance, correction, and support to help others realign with Yahweh’s will.
- Administering Yahweh’s Will: By actively participating in activities that promote justice, righteousness, and the values of Yahweh, we can administer His will in our communities and society at large.
- Seeking Yahweh in Times of Trouble: When faced with challenges and tribulations, turning to Yahweh in prayer, seeking His guidance, and remaining obedient to His voice can help us navigate difficulties and receive His promised blessings.
- Rejecting Evil Influences: Removing corrupt influences and false teachings that lead us away from Yahweh’s laws is essential in maintaining our covenant with Him and upholding our responsibilities as a chosen people.
By actively engaging in these practices and aligning our lives with Yahweh’s will, we can fulfill our part in the covenant, earn the rewards promised to us, and live out our calling as a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.
The Article
Yahweh once made to our ancestors, the greatest offer that man has ever received, an offer of the highest honor any man could hold. We find it in Exodus 19:5-6, “ Now therefore, if ye will obey My voice indeed and keep My covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure to Me above all people: for all the earth is Mine. And ye shall be unto Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.” This is one of the few offers which Yahweh made to us on condition that we also do something. As we have seen, most of His promises of future greatness were unconditional, but for this great honor we must do our part.
Moses told the people of this offer and they said, “ All that Yahweh hath spoken we will do.” It therefore became a covenant. We must earn the reward before we get it, we are bound by our promise to do this and we must yet make good our word.
We have been reminded many times of our special position and therefore of the duties and responsibilities which went with it. In Deuteronomy 7:6 we are told, “ For thou art a holy people unto Yahweh thy God: Yahweh thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto Himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.” Don’t let anyone tell you that we must not discriminate between the races, colors and nations. The Bible is a book of discrimination from cover to cover, discrimination by Yahweh’s own command. Who has the authority to rebuke Him for this? Isaiah 61:6 says, “ Ye shall be named the priests of Yahweh. Men shall call you the ministers of Yahweh.”
True, this promise was upon condition that we obey Yahweh’s laws and keep all of His covenants with us. We have not done so, therefore there were punishments provided for disobedience. Yahweh foresaw this and prepared the remedy for us. In Deuteronomy 4:30-31 we are promised, “ When thou art in tribulation and all these things come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to Yahweh and shalt be obedient to His voice; (for Yahweh is a merciful God); He will not forsake thee, neither destroy, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which He swore unto them.” Therefore, we have at all times had the path open before us to keep our covenant with Yahweh and thereby receive the promised blessings. In fact it specifically refers to our troubles in the latter days. Every student of Bible prophecy knows we are now in the latter days. It is high time that we begin to keep our word, so we can become a kingdom of priests to Yahweh our God.
What were the duties of these priests? There were two classes of priests, the Aaronic priesthood and the Levitical priesthood. The descendants of Aaron served in the temple, their duties being restricted to the religious ceremonies. The sacrifices and
offerings were also made there. The entire tribe of Levi was also priests and some of them assisted the Aaronic priests at the temple. The rest of the tribe of Levi constituted the entire civil service, the administrators of the government. They were the teachers and judges. They kept watch over the entire national life to see that all was done in accordance with Yahweh’s commandments.
The Aaronic priesthood administered over man’s relation to Yahweh. The Levitical priesthood administered over man’s relation to his fellow men, both as individuals and organized society. Out of the entire nation of Israel, only the one tribe of Levi were priests and only one family in Levi were the Aaronic priests. However, we were promised that our whole nation could become a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. Therefore, what the Aaronic and Levitical priests were to the nation of Israel, that nation was to become to all the world. We were to teach Yahweh’s laws and commandments to all the world. We were to judge them when they became disobedient and to administer and enforce Yahweh’s will in all the world. We have not fulfilled our duty in merely sending missionaries to plead with the pagans to adopt Yahweh’s laws and religion. Then we stand around wringing our hands in futile dismay when they despise all that we have come to teach and begin arming themselves against us. Yahshua warned us in Matthew 7:6, “ Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.”
When we promised to obey Yahweh’s commandments and to assume the powers and duties of His kingdom of priests, we really promised to administer His world for Him as His priests. We were not to be the servant of the Asian and African bloc of nations, in their destruction of civilization. Remember Yahshua’s commandment in His parable of the servants and the talents, occupy until I come! We have not occupied His world. We have retreated before the advance of His enemies and let them take over more and more of it. Thus we lost our priesthood by our own failure to obey and to perform the duties of Yahweh’s priests. We should have put His laws into effect throughout the world, even when His enemies opposed us.
If this sounds like imperialism, I have no apology to make for it because Yahweh commanded us to create empires. Psalm 105:43-44 says, “ And He brought forth His people with joy and His chosen, with great gladness; and gave them the lands of the heathen.” Psalm 18:43 states, “ Thou hast made Me the head of the heathen; a people that I have not known shall serve Me.” We will meet opposition of course, but Yahweh commanded us not to retreat before it, but instead to destroy it. In Jeremiah 51:20 Yahweh says, “ Thou art My battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations and with thee will I destroy kingdoms.”
However, we allowed treacherous liberals and ignorant clergymen to talk pacifism and equality to us until we forgot our duty, the result has been tragic. We have had three terrible wars within our own lifetime. Half of the civilized world was lost and a final war of extermination is just around the corner. Yahweh warned us in advance this was the penalty for disobedience. In Hosea 4:6 Yahweh said, “ My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to Me: seeing thou hast forgotten the laws of thy God Yahweh, I will also forget thy children.”
We have seen this sentence enforced against us. We rejected the knowledge of Yahweh’s laws until we have been rejected. We are not exercising our priesthood so have been deprived of it. Because we have forgotten the laws of Yahweh, we allow our politicians to lead us into one unrighteous disaster after another. Our children are forgotten to die on muddy battlefields all over the world.
How may we regain our priesthood? Only by a return to Yahweh, for He alone may restore it to us. It cannot be restored by allowing alien minority groups to forbid mention of His name in our schools and public ceremonies. We can’t regain it by fellowship in a national conference of Christians and the antichrist and not by reducing all nations to equality with the lowest, in the United Nations. No, only by cleansing our land of all these evil mistakes we have made in this generation, can we regain what we have lost.
In past centuries, our nation has gone through other periods of corruption and apostasy, though not as bad as this one. They did not produce disasters as great as the one we are rapidly bringing upon ourselves. Because of Yahweh’s promise, “ He will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which He swore unto them ”, Yahweh has sent to us at such times, prophets to call us back to our faith and to cleanse the nation of its evils. Fortunately, the Old Testament closes with the promise, “ Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of Yahweh.” Surely we need him. Remember that Elijah lived in a day of similar apostasy, materialism, internal corruption and lunatic foreign policy. He was scorned, smeared with false accusations, threatened with assassination and he stood alone except for Yahweh.
Even when Elijah raised anew the banner of faith and loyalty, there were but 7,000 men to follow him out of all his people. Just as he had spoken boldly for Yahweh, now he acted boldly for Yahweh. With his 7,000 men, he speedily rid the land of the 450 priest of Baal. Evil cannot live by itself, as an abstraction, it is the work of evil men and until their influence is broken, no land can be cleansed. The Baal priests who corruptly twist and falsify our religious, economic, social and political institutions in the evil service of the minority groups, must be removed from power before we can regain our lost priesthood. Yahweh send us Elijah soon!!
Critical note by Clifton A. Emahsier: I don’t know from where Comparet gets the erroneous idea that it’s the responsibility of the White Israelites to teach the nonwhite heathen races Yahweh’s laws! To do such a thing, it would require our living among them, and we were specifically commanded to separate ourselves totally from them! Surely we can’t do both! We were rather ordered to displace and exterminate the nonwhite heathen races as we came into possession their lands. Here is an excerpt of what Comparet said above: “ Therefore, what the Aaronic and Levitical priests were to the nation of Israel, that nation was to become to all the world. We were to teach Yahweh’s laws and commandments to all the world. We were to judge them when they became disobedient and to administer and enforce Yahweh’s will in all the world.”
Also, Comparet rightfully speaks of the “ latter days ” but we shouldn’t assume he is speaking of a 3½ or 7 year period of tribulation as futurists suppose! A day in prophecy = one year; a month in prophecy = 30 days (or 30 years); a prophetic year = 360 days (or 360 years). 3½ years = 42 prophetic months. Therefore 42 months = 1260 calendar years. A prophetic year is not a calendar year nor is a calendar year a prophetic year!
